Member Profile - Columbia Phytotechnology,
LLC
|
Columbia
Phytotechnology, LLC is a fast-growing
Columbia Gorge company focused on innovative
radiant-zone drying technology, antioxidant
testing and the production of high-quality
flowable powders for human consumption and use in
chemical processes. The company was started in
1990 to test nutritional ingredients for bio and
immune-activity, specifically antioxidants. Along
the way they developed and patented a new radiant
zone drying technology that is capable, according
to general manager Mark Savarese, of producing
products better than existing processes such as
freeze or spray-drying.

Oregon Creates Hot Jobs In
Green Technology |
"It's an
economic and environmental success story in an
area hard-pressed for family-wage jobs, an example
of "green collar" employment blossoming in
reaction to high energy costs and concerns about
global warming. And advocates say it shows
sustainable technologies don't have to mean
cutting back, but can mean growth instead." To

trade unions are expanding training programs for
solar and wind energy go to OregonLive.com for the full

Board requested 2-3 member volunteers to help with
our November member event, currently scheduled to
include a showcase of alternative transportation
technologies. The event would include the latest
hybrid automobiles, plug in electrics, alternative
fuels and transportation options available for
demonstration and, potentially, test drives. Event
volunteers would work with board members and the
GTA Coordinator to identify participants and
sponsors, participate in event planning and
logistics and help with hosting duties the day the
event occurs. Please contact Jim Donnelly
