{Columbia River Gorge Technology Region}

We are located in the Columbia River Gorge, which encompasses Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman counties in Oregon and Klickitat and Skamania counties in Washington. The maps (to the right and below) outline our region and highlight major access routes in and around the Columbia River Gorge.

Many transportation options are available throughout the Gorge via the Interstate/Route roads, the Pacific Union Railroad, The Dalles regional airport and navigation of the Columbia River itself. All of these provide a wide range of transportation options and a flexibility that many regions just don't have.

There are multiple broadband and telecommunications services in the region that provide route diversity and redundant paths via fiber optic, WiFi and others.

Portland International Airport is also only 55 miles west of the center of the Columbia River Gorge, providing additional and convenient travel access. The proximity to Portland, combined with a unique environment and access to infrastructure services is part of the driving factor for large companies like Google and Insitu who have decided to locate in the Columbia River Gorge.
